 What's the IP address?


The word IP address stands for Internet Protocol address of your device. An IP address is an exciting product of modern computer technology designed to allow one computer to connect to another via the Internet. Some digital devices with Internet access also use Internet Protocol addresses to communicate with other devices and computers. Allows the location of billions of online connected digital services to be identified and separated from other devices e.g. if someone needs your postal address to send you a letter, the remote computer needs your Internet Protocol address to connect to your computer. IPv6 uses binary 128 to create a set of numbers that will work for IP configuration. With IPv6, the number of unique combinations is almost limitless and will last for centuries.

However, following safe Internet practices can help reduce this potential problem and keep your computer safe no matter what type of IP you are using.

Dynamic IP Addresses

These are temporary addresses and are assigned each time the computer goes online. They are borrowed from a pool of IP addresses shared between different computers. Since a limited number of static addresses are available, most ISPs keep part of the shared address shared between subscribers in this way. This reduces costs and allows them to serve more subscribers than they could otherwise. Easy access can be made easier by using a strong IP address with a powerful DNS service, which allows other computers to locate you or using a temporary IP address. In this case it is always recommended to check with your ISP as this is usually very expensive.

IP version 4 is currently used by most network devices. However with the advent of computers accessing the Internet, IPv4 addresses quickly disappeared. As in the city, new location addresses should be created but, if your area becomes too large, you will need to come up with a whole new address pool.

There are 4,294,967,296 IPv4 addresses that can be assigned. IPv4 addresses contain four octets using 0-255 and are separated by decimals such as 75.0.253.255.

What mean of IPv6?


Internet Protocol version 6 will replace the old IPv4. The ivp6 address consists of 8 hexadecimal groups with four numbers (0-9 and a-f) separated by colonies and look like this: 2600: 1005: b062: 61e4: 74d7: f292: 802c: fbfd. If one of the groups contains only zeros, that group may be omitted.

One example is 2600: 1005: b062: 0000: 74d7: f292: 802c: fbfd can be rewritten as 2600: 1005: b062 :: 74d7: f292: 802c: fbfd. Estimated number of IPv6 addresses is 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 or 2 ^ 128.
